A good team display and a terrific result for Welfare who dealt well with the home side’s patient, possession football and showed plenty of attacking endeavour in response. A sparkling finish by Neil Evans from a great through ball by Matty Harrison gave Welfare the lead in the 38th minute.
Ruthin fought back and equalized ten minutes into the second half with a free header from a corner while a minute later Neil Evans headed narrowly over from close range.
The winner came direct from a Matty Harrison corner which found it’s way through the Ruthin rearguard with seven minutes left on the clock.
