Match Report

Yesterday we welcomed Corwen to The Ring. After a very disappointing 4-1 loss to Saltney the week before. We were looking for the lads to bounce back.
We found ourselves 1-0 after a screamer of a goal from outside the box (Joe Evans) giving keeper Dave Williams no chance.
After weathering the storm the Welfare started to control the first half having the better chances and we found the equaliser with a well worked free kick when George Finlay set up Jared Taylor who unleashed a thunderbolt giving the Corwen keeper no chance, 1-1 Game on. HT
Second half underway and we were pushing and pushing for the winner having many chances, but to no avail.
Corwen get a corner and Joe Williams with a free header to make it 2-1. Credit to Corwen they looked dangerous on the counter attack but the pressure was soaked up pretty well by our defence.
After probably the best bit of football throughout the game the impressive Tom Wells started a lovely bit of interplay with George Finlay receiving the ball back and flashing a low cross across the box, Tom Maurice-Jones finishing it off with a great left foot finish, 2-2.
Game finished 2-2 probably a fair result in the end and a much better performance from the boys.
