Yesterday our first team travelled to one of the league favourites FC Nomads. The game ended with a 2-2 draw. Nomads took the lead in the first half, not long later Rhys Lloyd scored a great solo goal to make it 1-1, half time. Second half and we were looking the brighter side. Plenty of chances for the away team that on another day we would of buried. We deservedly took a 2-1 lead when our two substitutes combined, debutant Tom Wells with a ferocious strike, keeper spilled and Luke Cahill pounced on the rebound. Sadly their goalkeeper took a nasty knock that took him out the game. We should of put the game to bed, yet we didn’t, and a resilient 10 man Nomads got the leveller in the very last kick of the game.
The team has come so far since last season as results are showing, and for us to come away disappointed not to take all three points, emphasises the progress in this very young side.
