1st team out of the Welsh Cup

Llay 1st team are out of the Welsh Cup in the first round away at FC Nomads of Connahs Quay. On a small school pitch withv trees hanging over the pitch, Llay seemed to have a a great start when Dan Hughes slotted home a penalty. FC Nomads however came back into the game with 2 goals in the first 45 mins to take a lead into the second half. Louis Hughes was forced off early suffering from a nasty challenge which hampered Llay further.
Llay had much more of the game in the second half playing some decent football at times but not really creating any clear cut chances. Ill dicipline came back to haunt us again when Matthew Davies was sent off for an off the ball incident. FC Nomads then took advantage of their 1 man advantage an increased their lead on 67 minutes. There was still a lot of time left in the game though and definatly more action to come. On 80 minutes Johhny Taylor was put through and rounded the keeper; the keeper got a touch but the ball fell to Luke Cahill who calmly put the ball in the net. The keeper then got up and rugby tackled Johhny Taylor. This led to a large brawl which somehow the ref deemed that he should send off the FC Nomads keeper (correctly) nd Johnny Taylor (incorrect). Llay did have some half chances with Andy Davies going close with his head and right foot. A dissapointing start for the Welfare, who will hope for a better performance in the league at home on Tuesday night against Brickfield.
