Manager's view....

"Yesterday saw the first team knocked out of the Welsh Cup, losing the game 3-1.
The passion and pride that our lads shown yesterday was a reward to the spectators.
Both sides made it a proper cup tie. Flint going in 0-1 at half time Ieuan Hewitt with a great free kick on the 30min mark. We probably had the better chances, and it was a little harsh on the boys after a fantastic first 45.
10 mins into the second half we were rewarded a penalty after a rare rash bit of defending from the away side, Rhys Lloyd bundled over in the box. Our magic man Matthew Worrall converted the penalty 1-1 and game on.
Unfortunately for the Welfare we seen some lapse defending almost straight away and we allowed the visitors to regain the lead through Kyle Smyth 1-2!
The game was effectively over not long after John Rhys was given the harshest of second yellows you will see in a game of football, trailing 2-1 and down to 10 men.
Flint grabbed their third of the day nodded home by Chris Budrys, 1-3.
Manager Michael Gadie said “I could not ask any more of my players, they worked their socks off, never gave up and wanted to fight for each other. Going down to 10 men killed it for us and gave us no chance against a well drilled outfit. I feel my players have shown the level they’re at today, and we need to start replicating this cup form in our league. Thank you to everyone who was there to watch today and many thanks to Aden Shannon and his players who made this a great cup tie and all the best in the next round.”
