Another dissapointing result for Llay as they went out of the Welsh Cup in the preliminary stages against a team that they should have beaten. Bow Street opened the scoring on 6 minutes when Liam Jones managed to scoop the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box after a good turn. Dan Hughes had an excellent chance just after but was unable to finish the move off. Just before half time Matthew Davies chased a lost cause and the ball eventually popped up to Owen Roberts who slotted it home making it 1 -1 at half time.
Llay came out the stronger side in the second half and were rewarded with a penalty for handball which Dan Hughes slotted home on 50 minutes. Llay then had a number of chances to finish the game off with Matthew Davies and Dan Hughes both missing good chances. Llay were then punished for this with Reece Jones scoring on 63 minutes. Owen Roberts and Matt Davies then had half chances with headers but both were off target. Bow Street then finished the game off, Gareth Hughes scoring on 80 minutes and Chris Owens brought down Dean Evans on 87 minutes to make it 4 -2.
