Match Report Llay Welfare v Gresford

A good turnout today at the Ring from supporters and players of both clus for the first pre season game. Plenty of new faces on show for both teams and Gresford had the beter of the 1st half. Graeme Sutcliffe opened the scoring for Gresford when he was found un marked from a Gresford corner to head in. Llay responded well and towards the end of the 1st half managed to get a well taken equaliser from Steve Allman who rounded the keeper and headed the ball in on the line. Llay seemed to take the upper hand in the second half although a defensive mistake let Gresford in and they took the lead again through one of their subs. The draw was sealed by Owen Roberts who came off the bench to score a rare header. A good workout for all 18 players involved today.
